Thinking about joining?

Anyone is welcome to apply to become a member. All you need is an instrument, a music stand and two and a half hours free on a Monday night for workshops.

Think you're not good enough on the instrument to play? Can you get a sound out of it? Then you can play.

Think you won't be able to keep up because you've never played in a band? Well, many of us hadn't either.

Think you play an instrument that isn't used for jazz? Tell that to our violin and euphonium players.

Think you don't know anything about jazz? Neither do/did most of us either.

Think you're too old / young? There are no age limits - younger members' parents can get in touch with us first*.

Membership:

Membership is either adult or junior, and the subscriptions are collected quarterly. It helps us greatly if members pay this by Standing Order - the forms are available from the Hon Treasurer

Membership rates are £55 per quarter for adults when paying by Standing Order, £58 if paying by cheque, and £25 per quarter for junior members ('junior' means under 18 or in full-time education).

* Note to parents: Dales Jam has a Child Protection Policy in place, and we take the safety of our younger members very seriously. Feel free to contact the Hon Secretary for details.
